Trails Day, Epic Endurance & Open-Ended Paths

Hey friends!

This weekend, I’m volunteering at the Worlds End Ultramarathon in the Endless Mountains. I’ll be hanging out early at the Iron Bridge aid station, and later at the finish. It’ll be my first time exploring Worlds End State Park, and I hope to see some of you out there!

Here’s a quick look at what’s on my radar this week in Pennsylvania’s parks and trails, plus one-person business insights to help power your next move.

🌳 Outdoors Spotlight

🗓️Save the date - National Trails Day is June 7
Join the American Hiking Society for National Trails Day ― a celebration of trails, community, and the power of getting outside. Across Pennsylvania and beyond, hikers, volunteers, and trail lovers will come together for group hikes and trail care events that highlight the importance of our shared outdoor spaces. Here’s what’s happening nearby:

🛠️KTA’s A.T. Section Trail Care Event - Join a Trail Work Day on the Appalachian Trail near Lehigh Gap and help with trimming, blazing, and clearing the trail.

🛠️Appalachian Trail Work Day in Wind Gap - Join AMC staff and volunteers for a Trail Work Day tackling invasive barberry to help keep the trail clear and the ecosystem healthy.

🏃Wissahickon Trail Classic - Experience the scenic trails in Philadelphia’s premier park at this 10K trail race, with funds supporting the FOW’s conservation efforts.

Trail & Ultra Buzz

👉 Volunteers needed at Eastern States (Aug 9–10)
Held annually in the PA Wilds region, this Western States-qualifying 103-mile ultramarathon is renowned for its technical terrain and demanding climbs. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the race's success by staffing aid stations and assisting with logistics along the course. I’d love to be a part of this, but the Philly Mayor’s Cup is the same weekend and I can’t be in two places at once.

💡 Smart Move for Your Week

Take breaks to recharge. Rest isn’t a luxury; it’s essential for productivity and creativity. Step away from your work to clear your head and recharge your energy. Whether it’s a walk outside, a short meditation, or a good book, taking intentional breaks can help you return to your tasks with a fresh perspective and renewed focus.

💭 Parting Thought

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Perfection is a myth. The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to success. Trust that you’ll figure things out as you go. Keep moving, learning, and evolving ― the answers will come with time.

You can complement this edition of Trailspire with my latest blog post, Unraveling from the quiet grip of expectations. It’s for anyone slowly untangling from the shoulds.

Make this week count ― get outdoors, chase your goals, and stay focused. If you’ve got something great to share, I’d love to hear from you!

Onward and upward,
Laura
