Solstice Pace, Loop Party & Rhythms of Work
Hey friends!
Western States weekend is here and you can catch every epic mile on the YouTube livestream.
Here’s what’s been moving through my world this week on the trails and in the work.
🌳 Field Notes
The mulberries are staining the sidewalks again and it’s a sure sign we’re in it now: the thick of summer. The season where long miles test your pacing and your mindset. The kind of heat that lingers. The kind of days that ask you to slow down or melt trying. This might be my favorite time of year in PA, when daylight stretches long and the fireflies show up like clockwork.
⚡ Trail & Ultra Buzz
👉 WIU Valley Forge Fun(run)draiser for the NPS (Jul 12)
Join us for a special Women in Ultrarunning event at Valley Forge to raise funds for the National Park Service. Choose from two loop options (4.4 mi and 7.9 mi) and run as many miles as you’d like ― I’m going for 13. Our group will be out there all day with an unofficial aid station and plenty of good vibes. Want to support or get involved? Hit reply and let me know!
💡 Solo Build Note
I used to think momentum had to mean moving fast. Lately, I’ve been reframing it as moving with rhythm. The slower the build, the stronger the foundation.
💭 Parting Thought
What if summer wasn’t a productivity break, but a recalibration?
Something to take to the trail: What pace actually feels good right now?
That’s all for this one.
Make this week count ― get outdoors, chase your goals, and stay focused. If you’ve got something great to share, I’d love to hear from you.
Onward and upward,
Laura
